Foundation — Privacy Policy

Foundation is a privacy-first journaling app. Your journal entries and personal data are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your journal content to our servers.
Data Storage
- All journal entries are stored locally on your device as Markdown files
- Your data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it
- We do not operate a cloud database or sync service for Foundation v1
Permissions We Request
- Photos Library: To attach photos to journal entries. Photos are stored with your entries on your device only
- Face ID: To unlock the app and protect your journal privacy
Future Features
- Foundation may integrate Apple's WeatherKit to display weather context for journal entries
- Any future cloud features will require explicit opt-in and will not access your journal without your permission
